Mani and Pedicure of the Week!

I haven't done a nail post in over 5 months and thought it was about time I did one again! After playing with my polishes on my clear nail wheels, I decided to go with a gold and olive green manicure since I liked how the two colors looked together. I usually don't share my pedicures here, but after swatching the orange Sinful Colors nail polish I bought around Black Friday 2013, but didn't really like at the time, I ended up loving the color and used it for my toes. To spare the sight of my feet online :P I have the swatched colors on a nail wheel. Two coats of the polishes were used on the wheel. Remember to click the images to enlarge!

I also wanted to use some nail decals I had to match my mani and pedicure ;) so these colors worked out!

For my entire manicure, I used:

Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base and Top Coat (as a base)
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Golden 1 (485)
Maybelline Color Show Holographic in Mystic Green (25)
Kiss Nail Dress in Babydoll (received in Influenster Varisty VoxBox)
Out the Door Top Coat for Nails

For my pedicure, I used:

Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base and Top Coat (as a base)
Sinful Colors in Courtney Orange (30)
Nailene Bedazzle Pretty Blossom Nail Art (from a few years ago)
Out the Door Top Coat for Nails

I used 2-3 coats of the nail colors and after placing the nail stickers, I layered it with the top coat.

Collective Sephora Haul

I've done a bit of shopping on Sephora.com over the past few months, so here is a "little" haul of products I have purchased since December.

I have mentioned Sephora on my blog a few times already, but for those who want to know about Sephora, check out their site. Personally, Sephora's (weekly) deals like these and free samples usually get me to buy something even when I don't need anything. I love their point program where you get more stuff after spending a certain amount and accumulating points, not just what you would have ordered anyway. Their 2x, 3x etc, point idea also gets me to shop. I have noticed that during January, Sephora usually does double points on skincare, triple points on fragrance in February, and this year, triple points again on fragrance around Mother's Day. I love their Sephora Fragrance Sampler for Her and value sets. If you are into anything beauty, you will love browsing through Sephora, for yourself or gifts for others!

To become a VIB before the year ended, I needed a few more points so I bought...
Boscia Mini Mask Medley

For my birthday in January, I treated myself to another Sephora Favorites Fragrance Sampler For Her

Just from those 2 little hauls, I collected all the goodies below!

Finally, with my VIB perk of free shipping on any purchase, I chose the Tarte Bright By Night Skincare Discovery Set because I heard so many good things about the oil and wanted to try it.

I used some points and chose to try these 3 samples

along with the free samples below.

I have a lot of products and samples to try out which I am excited for, so I will review (some of) these products in the future inshAllah (if Allah wills).

Proactiv

Long time no see! I'm sure I don't need to explain anymore, but I've been extremely busy with uni., work, and life basically. The "free" time I do have, I usually spend my time doing other things besides blogging here. But, with uni. ending for me after I finish a project in a few days, I plan to post once a week at least inshAllah. I might be taking a summer class too, so I won't be entirely free, but I will try to do what I can and get back to posting.

So the point of this post as you can tell from the title, is to share a recent skincare system... Proactiv. It's nothing new and many of us are familiar with it, but I recently decided to purchase a kit to try for my skin. I've heard mixed reviews about Proactiv so I was a bit hesitant, but I am a little desperate for clear skin, especially at this point in my life. I am unfortunately breaking out in adult acne and it's stressful! I've been use to practically clear skin for almost 20 years and this year as a junior in college, my skin freaks out. I think it might be due to the stress of junior year since the first time I did break out was as a junior in high school, but just my forehead was affected. Now, my cheeks and chin decides to join in :(

A couple of products by Proactiv have benzoyl peroxide, which seems to work for my skin as seen through the use of persa gel and I saw a few good reviews on some products. Proactiv also had 30% cash back on ebates for the kit I ordered and 60 days money back guarantee, so I thought now was the perfect time to try this line out.

I ordered the original Proactiv for Teens kit which includes:
Renewing Cleanser
Revitalizing Toner
Repairing Treatment
Deep Cleansing Wash
Advanced Blemish Treatment

Free benefits included:
Travel-size Green Tea Moisturizer
The Doctors' Secret to a Lifetime of Clear Skin
ActivMember® Benefits

And finally, for my free gift, I chose the Dark Spot Corrector.

I started to use the set for a few weeks already, so I will post a review/ follow up on the condition of my skin/ acne once I get a good idea of what's working and not.
