Received my Dean's List VoxBox!

This is my 3rd voxbox from Influenster (all of them having been college themed and came out around the same time). In this post, I will just show what I got in my box. In a future post inshAllah, I will review the products once I try them. *I received these free products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. If you would like to join Influenster, please leave me a comment below for an invite!

I received a total of 7 products in my box. The Playtex Sports Fresh Balance is not in the picture because I gave it away since I don't use tampons. However, I was impressed that I received almost $20 worth of items!

Airheads Bites
"Your favorite, chewy & intense Airheads flavors now come in bite-sized pieces! And to add to that fun, you can also get the all new berry flavors in Airheads bites berry!"

For religious reasons, I won't be trying these because they have gelatin (collagen extracted from the skin, bones, and connective tissues of animals) which could have came from pigs. Please watch this short video about pigs.

Pilot FriXion Clicker
"Never write a mistake again – guaranteed. The new FriXion Clicker by Pilot is America’s first retractable, erasable gel ink pen. FriXion has a unique thermo-sensitive ink formula that allows you to write smoothly and erase cleanly without damage to the paper or eraser shavings. When you rub, the erasing tip over your writing generates a little bit of heat, and that heat makes your words disappear from the page."

I have used FriXion pens before (thanks to Influnster ;) so I am looking forward to trying new ones.

Kiss® Looks So Natural Lashes
"KISS introduces a new brand of lashes. Made with a revolutionary technology that creates tapered ends, KISS Looks So Natural lashes blend seamlessly with natural lashes. Significantly lighter in weight than traditional lashes, the wearer can barely feel them on; 97% of women who wore these lashes felt the difference! These feathery, soft lashes are available in various styles, from natural to dramatic looks."

I recently have been thinking about trying false lashes, so these came at a perfect time. Looking forward to trying falsies for the 1st time!

Softlips® Cube in Fresh Mint
"Think outside the stick with Softlips® Cube. Revolutionary 5 in 1 lip care combines an advanced formula with an innovative new cube-shaped package. Lips look radiant and feel softer, smoother and more hydrated. It is available in three delightful new flavors: Softlips® Pomegranate Blueberry, Softlips® Fresh Mint and Softlips® Vanilla Bean."

CoverGirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Liquid Foundation in 305 Golden Tan
"The oil-free liquid foundation provides medium coverage to even skin tone and cover imperfections. The result is a flawless, natural look that lasts all day."

Working on Campus

By the end of this new semester, I will have worked 4 semesters on campus. From my experience, I would highly recommend looking for a job on campus if you need (extra) $$$, are looking for a job, want to make your own work schedule, or want to make it easier to "commute" from college to work. These are just a few of the perks I see from working on campus. I have been able to take a summer class, buy gifts for others (and treat myself ;), and start a business from the money I made the past year! It wasn't a lot, but for someone like myself, it helped and I did appreciate having my own money.

If you do choose to look for a job on campus and actually find one, you could save yourself a lot of stress. After you go through the process at your college/ university required to work on campus, think about your work schedule. Your on campus employer should be understanding of your work schedule because they know you are a student at their campus. There might be a minimum number of weekly hours you have to do, and where you fit the hours in depends on your class schedule. Because you are working on campus, you are also making the most of your time on campus, whether you commute or dorm anyway. If you have long breaks in between classes, see if you can fit in a few hours of work there. All you have to do is walk (or take a shuttle/ bus) to and from class to work. This might not be as bad as taking a long trip through traffic to get from campus or work off site or vice versa. Since I mentioned walking to and from class to work on campus, let me just say, you could seriously gain some leg muscle (like I did)! This might happen anyway if you walk a lot on campus between classes, but even more if you have one more place to go, work! So you are getting some exercise in your day without even trying :)

The only downside could be the actual wage. You might just get minimum wage compared to if you were working somewhere else that paid more. If the pros outweigh this con, then I think you should consider finding a job on campus!

So to recap in list form (my favorite!), the

PROS
- get $$$
- are employed
- make your own work schedule
- easier to commute to and from class to work
- spend your time on campus wisely
- (more) exercise
- gain skills

CONS
- wage (this may or may not be a problem for each individual needs)

College: Don't Stress It

It is officially back to school/ college time for many of us. Because of this, I thought I would share my advice on how I try not to stress myself out (too much!) These are all common sense things, but sometimes a reminder of such basic tips can be helpful :) Anyways, here is a short list of what I suggest and personally do to distress or lessen the amount of stress.

1. Time management (read my article on this here)
- use a planner and folders to stay organized with all your papers
2. Day off
- have at least 1 day off to just take a break
3. Take your mind off college/ work
- spend some time doing something (responsible) that you love, like reading a book or watching a movie
4. Socialize (again responsibly)
- hang out with family and friends to chat and have a good time
5. Pamper yourself
- treat your skin and body to a face mask, manicure/ pedicure, warm shower before bed, etc.
6. Enjoy nature
- go for a walk/ hike, picnic, exercise, weekend/ day trip etc.
7. Journal (read my blog post about this here)
- get all your thoughts, feelings, (stresses :P) out in writing
